Sky Sports changed its line up of channels in July 2017. The old “numbered” channels, Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and Xtra were replaced by a series of named channels, many of which are dedicated to specific sports.
They also changed their subscription model to give you more control and enable you to only subscribe to the channels you want. Or alternatively, you can choose to receive the entire bundle.
For example, if you only want to watch live football on Sky Sports, you'll only need a specific set of channels to access all the games.
We'll explain exactly what each channel is and which events it shows, to help you make your choice.
As the name suggests, this channel shows what are considered to be the biggest events of the day. These can be from any sport, including live football, golf, tennis, boxing etc.
Sky Sports is known as the home of the Premier League. The company has the rights to show 126 live EPL matches per season, and this station has them all. Live games are on Friday nights, Saturday and Sunday afternoon / evening, and Monday night as well as midweek games.

Sky's other soccer channel shows live football matches from all the other major competitions that they have broadcast rights for.
These include domestic games from the English Championship, Football League and the Carabao Cup. It also shows competitions from Europe and around the world, including the Scottish Premiership and MLS.
Fans of live cricket are going to absolutely love this. The Sky Sports Cricket channel offers the best coverage of both domestic and international cricket. They also cover all different forms of the game, including Test Match cricket, One Day Internationals (ODI) and T20.
Their match commentary and analysis is second to none, and is suitable for casual viewers as well as die hard fans. Plus, they have the Ashes, which no sports viewer will want to miss!
There is no better dedicated golf broadcaster in the world than Sky Sports Golf. They have coverage of all the European and PGA tour events, including the Open and the Masters, and they show more live golf on TV than any other UK broadcaster.
In between tournaments, you get exclusive interviews with top players and also masterclass lessons from top coaches. This is a really nice extra touch, and if you play golf yourself then these really can help you improve your game.
This is the station that motor racing fans can't afford to be without. Sky Sports F1 shows every Formula One race of the season exclusively live, in full. That's right – there are no ad breaks during the race!
The F1 coverage is superb, with in depth analysis and technical insight that gives a totally different experience for fans, compared to when it used to be shown by other broadcasters in the past.
